This policy describes the installed Android app. The public support site is a separate static service and contains no form, analytics, advertising or third-party script in this package. A host may process ordinary connection logs under its own terms.

This policy covers version 1.0.0 of the Sunward Courtyard Android application associated with Abbeyfield Nelson Incorporated. It explains the behaviour of the installed app only. The policy does not govern Google Play, the Android operating system, an email provider, a browser, Abbeyfield New Zealand's separate website, or another Abbeyfield house. The effective date is 8 August 2026.
Sunward Courtyard is an educational orientation companion for adults considering shared independent living, their adult family members, visitors, volunteers and community supporters. It is not directed to children and does not contain a child profile, youth activity, guardian workflow or communication feature. A person considering housing should discuss individual needs directly with authorised Abbeyfield representatives.
The app presents an illustrated, offline guide to publicly described features of the St Francis Way house and the wider Abbeyfield shared-living model. It includes studio and shared-space explanations, neighbourhood context, visitor guidance, volunteer topics, a dated source room, a visual collection and a private tray of preset questions. It is not a vacancy feed, application, booking, tenancy, eligibility, affordability, accessibility, care or emergency service.
The app does not collect, upload or transmit personal data, device identifiers, contact information, precise or approximate location, photos, files, messages, health information, financial information, usage analytics or diagnostics to Abbeyfield Nelson Incorporated or an app-operated server. There is no app backend and no network permission.
If a user adds a supplied question to My Question Tray, the selected question identifiers are stored in Android SharedPreferences inside the app's private storage. The app may also restore the currently open in-app page after a configuration change using Android's transient instance state. These values remain on the device and are not associated with a name, account or external identifier.
Sunward Courtyard does not offer free-text notes and is not designed to hold resident records, housing circumstances, application answers, medical details, dietary requirements, disability information, incident reports, financial details, visitor identities or other sensitive material. Users should not treat preset question selections as an application or personal record.
Version 1.0.0 requests no runtime permission and declares no Internet, location, camera, microphone, contacts, calendar, notification, Bluetooth, phone, SMS or storage permission. Android may display platform-generated components that are part of normal application operation; they do not add a Sunward Courtyard data-collection feature.
The app has no registration, login, user account, password, cloud profile or server-side identity. Account deletion is therefore not applicable. Local selections can be cleared with Reset My Tray, Android's Clear storage control, or by uninstalling the app.
The release contains no advertising SDK, analytics SDK, attribution SDK, crash-reporting SDK, social SDK, payment SDK, remote artificial-intelligence service, behavioural tracking, fingerprinting or telemetry. It does not display targeted or contextual advertising. The Android framework and standard Java APIs are used to render the offline experience.
Because the app does not transmit user data, it does not sell, rent, share or disclose app-entered personal data to Abbeyfield entities, advertisers, data brokers, analytics providers or other third parties. Preset selections remain inside the app's private storage until the user clears them or the app is removed.
Source titles and web addresses are shown for transparency, but version 1.0.0 does not open a browser, send email, place phone calls, export content or submit a contact form. The support website and official Abbeyfield pages are separate services with their own network and privacy practices. Current vacancy, application, price and contact details should be confirmed through authorised current channels outside this app.
Selected question identifiers remain in local private storage until the user resets the tray, clears application storage or uninstalls the app. No copy is retained by an app server. Android may keep ordinary operating-system records outside the app's control, subject to the device owner's settings and platform policies.
Reset My Tray deletes all question selections created by the app. Clear storage and uninstall remove the app's local state. Android cloud backup and device-to-device transfer are disabled for Sunward Courtyard, so the app is not intended to copy its private preferences to another device or restore them from an app backup.
Local state is kept in Android's application sandbox and the release minimises data by avoiding accounts, free text, sensitive records and network transmission. No software or device can be guaranteed absolutely secure. Users should maintain device access controls and install trusted system updates. The app is not a secure repository for confidential housing, health or identity information.
The app is designed for adults and does not knowingly collect information from children. It has no chat, public profile, image upload, precise location sharing, behavioural tracking or adult-to-child communication. If a child views the app with an adult, no child information should be entered because the app provides no entry field and no child-focused service.
Sunward Courtyard is not a health, medical, nursing, disability-assessment, personal-care, diagnosis, treatment, emergency or professional-advice app. Public descriptions of ground-level studios, walking-frame or wheelchair-friendly design and scooter facilities are general orientation facts, not a guarantee that the house or a particular studio suits an individual's needs. Confirm current arrangements directly. For urgent help, use appropriate local emergency or professional services rather than this app.
A future app version may update this policy if its behaviour changes. A new effective date and in-app text will accompany a material revision. Users may choose not to select any questions, may reset local state at any time, and may stop using or uninstall the app. A material feature involving data transmission would require updated disclosures before release.
